My class had a long weekend during our program where we were able to decide a major city to venture to. Me and my friend Sonni chose to go to Venice because ever since I was little I have wanted to travel there. We woke up at the extremely early hour of 5:30 a.m. Normally I would never wake up this early but today we were going to Venice! We caught the 6:15 am bus to Pesaro and from there ran to our first train to Bologna (we had 10 mins from leaving the bus to find the right platform). To see which platform you are, you look at the huge monitors for your train's number, like at the airport. From Bologna we transferred and took our second train to Venice. Normally you have to pay €1 to use the bathroom, but we found a free one in Bologna station by going all the way to the bottom floor. To buy train tickets I used the Trainline EU app on my iPhone. It is pretty easy to figure out how to buy the tickets and you can just put your card number into the app. We some how managed to make it on the correct bus after getting to Venice and found our way to our charming air bnb. We stayed at a bnb 10 minutes by bus outside of the city of Venice for $74 per person. When we got there it was another €6 all together for our "tourist fee". It was right near the Mestre station and we took bus #2 to get in and out of the city. To reserve and air bnb you have to use the air bnb app on your iPhone. From there you just select your dates and browse through the places until you find one you like. (All pictures were taken on my iPhone for this day).
