The smells of fresh fish, savory cheese and Italian leather were in the air at the weekly Saturday market in Urbino. Immediately I was drawn to the unique clothing and sandals. After buying an extremely soft pair of pants, I strolled down the cobble stone path between vendors. Along with great food and the latest fashion something I noticed was the presence of family and friends. A parent pushed a stroller, a mother clasped arms with her daughter and a toddler played with a dog. There was even a restaurant where you could find friends laughing over a few cappuccinos. If you happen to find yourself in Urbino I definitely recommend saving your Saturday morning for the market, it closes in the late afternoon.
