Day 2: A trip to Pesaro

Pesaro is a beach town on the Adriatic coast of Italy within the Marche region. After walking to the bus station in Urbino and about an hour bus ride we arrived in the lovely town of Pesaro. This place is a hot destination for its sandy beaches and clear water. You can rent a chair and an umbrella, each around €5.00, or feel free to bring your own towel. With music playing and kids running around freely, this beached seemed on the safer side to me. In the piazza there was even a screen set up for an evening movie. Small shops line the streets and I counted more people on bikes than in cars. Although the beach was crowded, I felt secluded under my umbrella, making Pesaro a nice place to get away on a sunny day. Whether you like being on the hills in Urbino, or the beaches of Pesaro, the Marche region has a lot to offer.

Travel tip: Plan on getting to the bus station a little early. Sometimes the area that sells bus tickets is closed and you will need EXACT change to ride the bus. They do have a coin machine to turn cash into change, but make sure you give yourself enough time to do so. The bus works by either buying a ticket beforehand, which you validate in the yellow box on the bus while boarding, OR by having exact coins to place into the yellow box where you will receive your ticket. Our ticket was €3.40 but can vary.
