Today started with a walk down the hill from the piazza to the parking lot. From there everyone met up to travel by car to our next destinations. After my battle with car sickness, our first stop was one of the smallest countries in the world, San Marino (a country inside of Italy). While this country is known for its fascinating history and great views, it is also known for its lavish shopping. While most of the group went to take pictures of scenery, Olivia and I took a different approach and hit up the small shops. I bought a fairy that I thought looked like me and a magnet for my parents. One shop even had Harry Potter wands and Game of Thrones items (I was extremely close to buying something). In another shop, an owner had a fluffy dog that I thought was a piece of furniture at first and in the shop next to that an owner was putting her grand daughter to work with a small windex and cleaning supplies. Most shops had purses inside that were expensive, but were well worth it, so if you go bring your credit card!
Travel tip: To get to one of the shopping areas you have to take an elevator down. I have learned that Italian's do not like when you touch things in their shop usually, when you are just looking, but they do like a friendly buongiorno and warm smile when you enter.
