Urbino is known for being the start of the Renaissance. Today I got the chance to visit Urbino's famous Palazzo Ducale. This palace is a revered monument in Italy and is also marked as a world heritage site. To see inside you go through the Galleria Nazionale della Marche. I also ventured to the various buildings that surround the Piazza Rinascimento. One building pictured above is the Museo Diocesano Albani. This museum officially opened in 1964 and was the birthplace of Giovan Francesco Albani, Pope Clement XI. One if its main works is the lectern of Frederick III from Montefeltro, this was the Duke's library inside Palazzo Ducale. Another building pictured is the Parrocchia Universitaria. This is just a small glimpse into the large history Urbino has to offer. Other things to view are Urbino's alluring Cathedral, the botanical gardens, and the house of extremely famous painter Raffaello.

Travel tip: The Galleria Nazionale della Marche, which is the tour through the Palazzo Ducale, costs €5.00. They do not let you take large bags in and you have to store them in a locker room. Ask the lady selling tickets and she will point you in the right direction. There are also signs with a hanger symbol.
